Official descriptions: CBSA Customs Tariff, 2026 (version 2). These are six-digit HS subheadings, shared by Canada, the United States and Mexico. Import entries need the full ten-digit code for the importing country: check the CBSA Customs Tariff for Canada or the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and confirm the classification with your customs broker.

Classification, CUSMA and 2026 tariffs

How products are classified, what makes goods qualify under CUSMA, the nine elements of a certification of origin, and which 2026 tariffs depend on the HS code are all in our HS codes and CUSMA guide.

How the lookup works

What do these HS codes cover?

All 5,612 six-digit Harmonized System subheadings (HS 2022), with the official descriptions from the CBSA Customs Tariff. The first six digits are the same in Canada, the United States and Mexico; import entries need the full ten-digit code from the importing country’s schedule.

How do I search?

Type all or part of a code, with or without the dot (for example 0808 or 080810), or words from the description (for example apples, lithium or lumber). Several words narrow the results. The category filter shows the common codes for one group of products, and every code links to its chapter page.

Can I rely on this list for my customs entry?

Use it to find the likely heading, then confirm the full ten-digit code with your customs broker or the official schedules. The importer of record is responsible for the classification, and products near the edge of a heading may need a binding ruling.
