LTL Freight Shipping Services
Stryke Logistics arranges less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping across Canada and the United States for shipments from one pallet to a few skids. We confirm the class, the accessorials and the pickup before the freight is tendered, so the invoice matches the quote.

What we arrange
Classed right the first time
Since the National Motor Freight Classification moved to a density-based scale in July 2025, most freight is classed by its pounds per cubic foot. We confirm the weight and dimensions before tender, because that is the difference between the quote and the invoice.
Volume LTL and partial truckload
From about six pallets or 10,000 pounds, a volume LTL or partial truckload rate often beats standard LTL and avoids terminal transfers. We price both and tell you which wins.
No accessorial surprises
Liftgate, inside delivery, residential, limited-access and appointment charges are confirmed at quote time, so they do not first appear on the invoice.
Packaged for the terminal
LTL freight is handled several times between pickup and delivery. Stretch-wrapped pallets, do-not-stack labels and labels on two sides arrive in better shape and get reclassified less often.
Scheduled and multi-location
Recurring store, distributor and branch deliveries run on a set schedule, with the same carriers on the same lanes.
Choosing the right mode
LTL is the cheapest way to move freight that does not fill a trailer. Once a shipment reaches about six pallets, compare it with other options.
About 6 to 12 pallets
Volume LTL or a partial truckload often costs less and skips terminal handling.
A same-day or next-morning deadline
An expedited dedicated truck or hot-shot carries only your freight.
ExpediteFreight that needs a temperature range
Use refrigerated or protect-from-freeze service instead of a standard LTL trailer.

How it works
- Send weight and dimensions. Pallet count, the weight and dimensions of each pallet, commodity, and pickup and delivery addresses.
- Class and quote. We confirm the density class and accessorials, and compare standard LTL with volume LTL.
- Book the pickup. Bill of lading prepared, pickup window confirmed, labels sent.
- Track through the network. Tracked through each terminal to delivery, with appointment calls made for you.
- Delivery and POD. Signed proof of delivery returned with the invoice.
What to send for a quote
- Number of pallets, plus the weight and dimensions of each
- Commodity and packaging, and whether it can be stacked
- Pickup and delivery addresses, and whether either is residential or has no dock
- Accessorials needed: liftgate, inside delivery, appointment
- Ready date and any delivery deadline

Frequently asked questions
How is LTL freight priced?
By freight class, weight, lane and accessorials. Since July 2025 the NMFC classes most freight by density (pounds per cubic foot), so accurate weight and dimensions are the biggest factor in an accurate quote.
When is volume LTL cheaper than standard LTL?
Usually from about six pallets or 10,000 pounds. Volume LTL and partial truckload are priced on space and weight rather than class, and often avoid terminal transfers. We price both and recommend the cheaper option.
What is an accessorial charge?
An extra service beyond dock-to-dock pickup and delivery, such as a liftgate, inside delivery, residential delivery, limited-access sites or a delivery appointment. We confirm them at quote time.
Why was my LTL shipment reclassified?
Carriers inspect and re-weigh freight. If the weight or dimensions differ from the bill of lading, the class and charge change. Measuring each pallet before tender prevents it.
Do you ship LTL across the border?
Yes, between Canada and the United States in both directions. The customs broker and commercial invoice are confirmed before pickup.
How should LTL pallets be packaged?
Stretch-wrapped on a sound pallet, nothing hanging over the edge, labelled on two sides, and marked do-not-stack if it cannot carry weight.
